Criminal Defense Attorney Eric Barker was born in 1967 in Miami, Florida. His family includes his wife Melissa, daughter Julia, and son Bryce.

Eric earned his B.A. degree at the University of Florida in 1989, and his J. D. at the University of Florida 1992.

Eric Barker was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992 and to Federal Court, Middle District of Florida, in 1992.

During law school Eric interned for Center for Government Responsibility, Southern Legal Counsel, Office of the Public Defender, and Springfield & Gunson, P.A.

Between 1993 and 1999 Eric worked at the Office of the Public Defender, 9th Judicial Circuit. In 1999 Eric became Division Chief of the Felony Division 10. Eric also worked as organizer/leader of Teen Court Program during its inception in 1995.

In 1999, Eric was persuaded by senior partner Mark NeJame to leave the public sector, where he had dedicated his service, and join an elite team of attorneys at this law office. One year later Eric became a partner of the firm where he has been working ever since.

Eric Barker has always fought for his client’s rights and freedom as a defense attorney throughout his career. He is passionate about developing defenses on behalf of his clients and often becomes engaged in aggressive negotiations with the State. He believes that fully preparing his cases puts him in a position of strength to secure the most favorable results for his clients. Sometimes the case goes to trial, for which Eric is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He has been counsel in approximately 65 criminal trials.

No case is too large or too small for Eric to handle. He has handled almost all type of criminal cases including drug trafficking, first degree murder, kidnapping and sexual battery, Internet solicitation of minors, aggravated battery, drug possession, conspiracy, DUI, RICO, dealing in stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, VOP, battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic violence, fleeing and eluding, solicitation and assault.
